About Wayne

• Wayne and his wife Colleen have 6 children, 17 grandchildren and 12 foster children.

• Wayne is a native of Oregon, raised in Seaside, Oregon.

• Wayne graduated from OIT in Klamath Falls in 1961.

• Wayne was with the Oregon State Police for over 27 years, in the Game Enforcement Division, enforcing fish and wildlife laws – He retired in July 1991.

Wayne and Colleen have been recognized as:

• Coos-Curry Tree Farmer of the Year – 1981

• Oregon Tree Farmer of the Year – 1992

• National Tree Farmer of the Year – 1993 – Selected as #1 out of the 73,000 tree farm members.

• Curry County Conservation Farmer of the Year – 1993

• Stewardship in Forestry Award – 1993

Wayne is a member of and involved with the following:

• Member of the Rogue River Watershed Council and the Euchre Creek Watershed Council.

• Curry Anadromous Fishermen and Curry Guides Association.

• Coos/Curry Small Woodlands and Oregon Small Woodlands.

• Past Member Oregon Tree Farm System Executive Board.

• Past Forestry advisor for former State Representative Walt Schroeder.
